HIS FAMILY -
Ken arrived in
late March of 2005 to become the pastor of Community Church.
Since then, the church has experienced exponential growth. He
and his wife, Pat, have a blended family of six children and seventeen
grandchildren. Pat and Ken enjoy biking, horses, camping and
watching movies. Ken is an avid golfer and Pat enjoys scrapbooking, cross stitch, music, charcoal sketching, and teaching
children’s Bible classes.
HIS FAITH
-
Growing up in
upstate New York, Ken excelled in baseball and had a promising
professional career when he received his draft notice. He decided
to join the U. S. Navy and served for the next nine years. While
living in Florida in the early 1970’s Ken became ill and ultimately had
heart surgery. It was about this time that Ken began reassessing
life and his attention was drawn toward God. It would not be until
many months later, however, that he would be converted to Christ.
A few months following that, Ken sensed a call to ministry and God
enabled him to pursue that call by an early retirement from the Navy for
medical reasons. Ken began preaching in 1978 and following his
formal education he was ordained by an independent Baptist church.
In 1995, Ken was led to ordination in the Presbyterian Church.
While he still misses Navy life, he has never regretted God’s call upon
his life. Through his ministry, many have also received calls by
God to full-time Christian ministry.
